Een stel luidsprekerbehuizingen met de Philips 9710M gemaakt volgens een ontwerp uit "Loudspeakers and Loudspeaker Cabinets" door P.W. van der Wal (Paperbacks, Philips, 1966).
Hi , is the 9710 the chassis which was used in the Philips AD5051 ? The AD5051 was tested in german Fonoforum magazine together with the AG 9015amp https://philipsag9015home.files.wordpress.com/2019/07/038_derphilips-hi-fi-stereo-verstc3a4rkerag9015-1.pdf ...so the result was not pleasing ": no Hifi speaker ...same sound as a tube radio " How did your DIYbox sound ?
I can't find anything about a Philips AD5051, not in my data on Philips loudspeakers/enclosures, and not on the web, except for the article you linked to. I conclude that the article you linked to mentions a wrong type number. Because of this, I can't answer your question. Philips did market the 800 Ohm AD5055 loudspeaker system, containing 1 x AD5201A Woofer and 2 x AE37011 in series for mid/high. These loudspeakers would be the best to use with the Philips AG9015 amplifier. Philips also did market the 800 Ohm AD5046 loudspeaker system, containing 1 x 9710AM. This loudspeaker system would also be suited for the Philips AG9015 amplifier. But when it comes to the low frequencies, it could not compete with the Philips AD5055 loudspeaker system. Greetings, Robert
yes the AD5051 seems to be a mystery .....only this other page https://www.radiomuseum-bocket.de/wiki/index.php?title=Philips_Lautsprecherbox_AD5051 is listing it.Maybe it was made only for germany and soon was withdrawed from the market. So we will not find out which chassis it used. But back to your TQWTbox with the 9710. Do you think that TQWT housing improved the bass fundament significantly compared to a standard bassreflex ?
I don't know if a 9710 in a TQWT would have improved bass over a standard bassreflex enclosure because I only heard the 9710 in sealed enclosures (as full-range) and open baffles (for mid/high only). I preferred the 9710 in the Philips AD5004 boxes because the bass was better than that of the enclosures in this blogpost. Both the Philips AD5004's and the above enclosures are no longer in my possession (I gave them away). Greetings, Robert
